Welcome to our class Kindergarteners and families!
I’m Judi Rice, your Assistant Teacher this school year. I ‘m originally from Ohio. I met my husband Dan at the University of Akron where I was a Fine Art’s major. He joined the Marine Corps and we married in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1984. When he left the marine Corps in 1987 we settled near family in the Chicago area. Dan, our boys, and I moved to Raleigh in 1998 for my husband’s job expecting to be here for “a year or two”. All these years later, we think we are here to stay!
We have three grown sons, Jake, Josh, & Jon. We also currently have 2 dogs: Doodle, a longhaired Dachshund mix, and Chance, a lab pointer mix.
I started in the Wake County Public School system as a volunteer when my youngest was in kindergarten. I’ve been a Media Assistant, or an Assistant Teacher for almost 17 years! The first teacher I worked with showed me that “structure, humor, and love” is the best way to run a classroom. I believe that every child deserves respect, kindness, and smiles every day. I look forward to working this year with Katie Sayles again. I can assure you that she brings great enthusiasm and a love of teaching to the classroom. I can’t wait to meet your children and get started!
Sincerely,
Judi Rice
